Community Associations and Charities

Using space at Carlingwood Shopping Centre is an ideal way for Associations and Charities to build grass roots support for causes. Carlingwood is pleased to support registered charities and associations who wish to hold events in the shopping centre. Please contact the Carlingwood Shopping Centre Marketing Assistant at 613-725-1551 to make arrangements to submit your event proposal.

Please note that standards of operation include:
1. Up to one group is given space in Carlingwood per week.
2. Priority is given to groups that offer an event or a team/association registration - sales of raffle tickets does not constitute an event. In addition to this, groups are not allowed to sell discount coupon books.
Example of an Event: Children at Risk offers a display called Celebrity-Carved Pumpkin Contest - there are raffle tickets involved but there is a judging and "attraction" component to this that is appealing to the community.
Example of a registration: Frank Ryan Little League is holding their annual team registration in Carlingwood.
3. A group cannot use space in the shopping centre for the same event more than twice a year.
4. Each group must have at least one representative at their display throughout the time period booked. This is both for liability reasons and for end results - you cannot succeed in your goals if the booth is left unattended.
5. Each group must supply their own liability insurance.
6. Carlingwood will sponsor groups - either with display support (table and chair rentals) or with prize offerings.

The value of having a space where the community shops every week cannot be underestimated - many work hours and dollars have been invested in making Carlingwood what it is today, a safe and comfortable community shopping centre. The value for you to build an appealing display of high standards that attracts people will give your efforts a ten fold return.

Christmas Gift Wrap

Every year the Carlingwood Gift Wrapping is provided by the Ottawa Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Carlingwood supplies the gift wrap, ribbons, bows and tape - you supply the gifts and donation to this worthy charity.

The Children's Wish Foundation

The Children's Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses. Every year, Carlingwood hosts an event to benefit the Children's Wish Foundation to help raise funds and awareness for this worthy cause. In the past Carlingwood has been the site of a celebrity breakfast, coordinated the sales of celebrity Wish Stars, sold Ottawa Senator banners and hosted a bake sale to help kids be kids again.
